Election and general composition

The Walloon members of parliament 

The Parliament of Wallonia comprises 75 members, who are elected by universal suffrage, in accordance with the proportional-representation system and based on 13 electoral catchment areas. 

These 13 electoral catchment areas fill a number of seats that is proportional to their population. 

The 75 Walloon members of parliament are elected for a five-year term, which corresponds to the duration of a parliamentary term. The Parliament of Wallonia cannot be dissolved early.
